Turkey Trot Costume

The final — and most important — part of my 2014 Turkey Trot costume arrived today! I was delighted. You may be wondering, “What was the final piece?”  Well, it was my turkey tutu from Race Junkie. It’s so awesome! I’ve fallen in love with it already, and I can’t wait to wear it at the run!

My husband was laughing at me — he never thought he would hear me so excited about getting a tutu. Now that I think about it. It’s true. The word “tutu” wasn’t really in my vocabulary until I got into running. It’s coming up a lot more regularly now. I can’t seem to resist the allure of running tutus. They are creative, colorful, fabulous and fun. Others may scoff and call them lame (remember the Self magazine snafu), but I don’t care. I love it.

You have to wait until Thanksgiving to see the full outfit, but here’s a sneak peak at the piece de resistance! Brown tulle in front with red, yellow and orange “feathers” in back — and an awesome turkey on the bow! Irresistible!
